Michael Vick limited in practice
The injured quarterback jogged onto the practice field with his teammates Tuesday morning but afterward would not say whether he thinks he will play Sunday.
"I was very surprised to be able to get out there and move around," Vick said after limited participation. "I was able to get some velocity on my throws. I was surprised, but I just have to keep working."
Vick, who is dealing with an injured hamstring, took part in early drills, throwing to receivers without defenders involved. He said he did not participate in 7-on-7 or 11-on-11 periods, which would have required him to make more sudden movements on the field.
"We didn't want to stress it," Vick said of the injury. "It's still Tuesday; it's early. We just wanted to get me back in the flow, in the rhythm. It's still tender in some spots."
Asked if he thought he could play Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Vick would not commit to an answer.
"I don't know," he said. "It's too early to say."
Vick did say the pain in his hamstring was "agonizing" and forced him out of the Eagles' Week 5 victory Sunday over the New York Giants.
"I feel a lot better today," Vick said.
If Vick can't play, Nick Foles would start against the Buccaneers. Foles took the first-team reps in practice Tuesday. Rookie Matt Barkley, who has been inactive for the first five games, was moved to the second-team spot.
"It always feels good getting reps," Foles said. "My expectation is to get a lot of work in. Whatever it is on Sunday, I'll be ready. My mindset does not change."
Foles replaced Vick late in the end of the first half against the Giants and completed 16 of 25 passes for 197 yards and two touchdowns. The Eagles won 36-21.
Vick missed nine of a possible 32 starts in 2011 and 2012. He set a goal of playing in all 16 games this season, something he hasn't done since 2006 while with the Atlanta Falcons.
"It's always disheartening when you can't be in there," Vick said.
