This is the second Achilles injury in three years for Hall, who hurt his left Achilles in 2011, but sources told Holtzman that Sunday's injury was to his right Achilles.
Hall will be re-evaluated Monday, sources told Holtzman.
At the time Sunday's injury occurred, the Lions were at the Bengals' 11-yard line and driving. As Hall backed up into his own end zone, Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford tried to complete a touchdown pass to Johnson.
When Johnson left his feet for the ball, Hall fell down. Johnson ended up bobbling the ball and eventually dropping it before Hall rolled over onto his stomach and took his helmet off.
Seconds after the injury, Hall got up and gingerly walked over to the sideline under his own power but under the watch of trainers.
On the next play, the Bengals moved veteran cornerback Terence Newman to Hall's previous spot and had him matched up against the 6-foot-5 Johnson.
Hall was injured once before this season, suffering a hamstring injury that kept him out of the Weeks 4 and 5 games against the Browns and Patriots, respectively. He returned last week against Buffalo.
The Bengals had another defensive player, tackle Devon Still, leave the game with a first-half injury. Still was carted off the field early in the second quarter after suffering an elbow injury at the end of the first quarter.
