Four downs: Chiefs can swing fantasy playoffs

Alex Smith is playing like a top-10 fantasy quarterback, his weapons are producing and Kansas City's schedule couldn't be easier for the stretch run.

Will K.C. cruise into the postseason?

The Chiefs continued to roll, posting their fifth straight win Sunday at home against fellow AFC wild-card contender Buffalo. Equipped with a cotton-soft schedule the rest of the way, Kansas City is in prime position to lock up a postseason bid. Playoff picture

Spencer Ware comes up big

At this point, it's clear that you should start whoever is expected to be the Chiefs' No. 1 running back. Charcandrick West missed the game with an injury, but Ware filled in admirably in his first NFL start (19 carries, 114 yards and a touchdown). His 17 points came on the heels of a 21-point effort last week. Fantasy winners

Justin Houston goes down

Houston left the game after getting cut down by teammate Ron Parker with 4:08 left in the first quarter. Coach Andy Reid said after the game that Houston has a sprained knee. The All-Pro entered the week fourth in the NFL with 7.5 sacks. He led the NFL with 22 sacks last season. Big injuries

Jeremy Maclin comes up big

He had a 41-yard touchdown catch and another 37-yarder that set up a score. He had his third game this season with at least 140 receiving yards, finishing with nine catches for 160 yards. Game balls

Rex Ryan says the Chiefs "started playing the safety a zillion yards deep" and that's why Sammy Watkins was held without a catch in the second half.
