Rams to practice with military personnel

For the second time this summer, St. Louis invited members of the military to the practice field. For Wednesday's walk-through at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois, 22 soldiers will join the Rams. Last month, the Rams visited a Navy base in California.

Rams rank third in under-25 talent

The St. Louis Rams rank third in the NFL in quality of talent under 25 years old, as the Rams have several young starters they're counting on.

Rams starters unlikely to play much in preseason finale but coach Jeff Fisher said young offensive linemen will likely play more than starters normally would in a fourth preseason game.

Rams OL Rodger Saffold (shoulder) returned to practice on limited basis today and will be questionable for preseason finale. But he said he'll "absolutely" be ready to play in opener against Seattle. When he does return, Saffold said he'll be playing right guard.

Rams cut CB who punched Dez Bryant

CB Imoan Claiborne, who had an interception in the preseason opener and was a part of the brawl with the Cowboys. Coach Jeff Fisher called Claiborne a practice squad candidate, but St. Louis kept two other undrafted rookie corners ahead of him in the preseason finale so it isn't a sure thing that Claiborne will stay with the team.

Because of injuries and uncertainty, Rams still doing some offensive line shuffling. Tim Barnes, Demetrius Rhaney and Garrett Reynolds worked with first team at center, right guard and left guard, respectively.

Rams had relatively short practice indoors today because they expected lightning in the area. Practice after Jeff Fisher informed the players being cut of their release.

Rams actually made mistake on release of roster moves. Team is at 77 players instead of 78. They have two more moves to make by Tuesday afternoon to get to league-mandated 75.

Now former Rams CB Imoan Claiborne had an interception against Raiders in first preseason game but will be best remembered as the player who punched Cowboys WR Dez Bryant in the face during fracas in Oxnard.

Rams made a series of roster moves to get closer to league-mandated 75 players by Tuesday. No major shocks though CB Imoan Claiborne, who had played well in preseason was a mild surprise. Team has three more moves to make to get to 75.
