Caldwell says Lions owner upset over missed call

Lions owner Martha Ford has not spoken publicly, but on Thursday, coach Jim Caldwell said on his weekly radio appearance that she is not pleased with what happened in Seattle on Monday night.

Lions OC Joe Lombardi said Matthew Stafford has played better than is given credit for but what has been missing has been "the big play." The Lions tried more deep passes Monday night but didn't hit.

Lions HC Jim Caldwell said there are no guarantees DeAndre Levy plays Sunday but every day in practice is a test leading to game day. Levy practiced fully Wednesday. So watch that Thursday. If he is a full participant again -- that's a good sign he's on track for his season debut against Arizona.

Michael Rothstein ESPN Staff Writer

Lions HC Jim Caldwell said on 97.1 The Ticket in Detroit that "don't think Mrs. Ford is not upset" when discussing the batted ball officiating call Monday night against Seattle, but that he doesn't want the victim mentality and that he doesn't dwell on things. Lions remain 0-4.

Edwards: Caldwell can't let players hang on to loss to Seahawks (1:50)

Lions QB Matthew Stafford said there has been an effort to get the ball out quick the past couple weeks -- in part due to the defenses the are playing and Arizona is no different.

Michael Rothstein ESPN Staff Writer

Calvin Johnson said he didn't know the batted ball rule, but saw the ball going out of the end zone. If he had to do play over, he would do the same thing.
