The Broncos have signed rookie defensive lineman Adam Gotsis, their second-round pick. So first-round pick Paxton Lynch is the team's only unsigned rookie.

After today's Broncos practice coach Gary Kubiak said DeMarcus Ware did not participate in the workout because Ware's back "was bothering him a bit." Kubiak also said holding Ware out was "more preventative then anything," but Ware has had back troubles in the past and missed five games with a back injury last season. Kubiak called Ware a "day-to-day participant" for these next two sets of OTAs.

Mark Sanchez, who suffered a thumb injury to his non-throwing hand in the weight room earlier this month, was not expected to take part in this week's set of OTAs. But Sanchez was in uniform Tuesday and taking plenty of work with the starting offense. It is a little more evidence of how badly Sanchez wants to be the Broncos starter.

Broncos in rare situation at QB

Unless Trevor Siemian wins the starting job in Denver, the Broncos will begin defending their Super Bowl title with a newly acquired starting QB. Per Elias, only the Ravens (in 2000-01) have done so before in the Super Bowl era.
