Sanchez: Broncos' QB pick a vote of confidence

Mark Sanchez isn't threatened by the Broncos' selection of Paxton Lynch in the NFL draft. Instead, he sees the selection as a vote of confidence in himself as the team's No. 1 quarterback.

Mark Sanchez said today he reached out to all of the Broncos draft picks this past weekend and that second-round pick Adam Gotsis responded with a text "thanks mate." So, Sanchez said: "I looked him up a little more and I was 'oh got it Down Under, perfect'." Gotsis is a native of Australia and former Australian Rules football player.

Denver draft hinges on Paxton Lynch

Mel Kiper Jr. thinks the Broncos got a steal in Justin Simmons at the end of Round 3, and they got great value at No. 63 with Adam Gotsis. But the draft class will hinge on Lynch, and how long Denver waits to play him. NFL draft grades (Insider)

Broncos' best pick: Adam Gotsis

Denver took the Georgia Tech defensive end with its second-round pick. Gotsis is a perfect fit for defensive coordinator Wade Phillips' system due to his ability to penetrate as an inside rusher. Todd McShay (Insider)

Elway also said after the draft he would like to negotiate deals for Von Miller, Brandon Marshall and eventually Emmanuel Sanders, but that Miller's deal would be first in line.

Broncos executive vice president of football operations/general manager John Elway said following the draft the team is undecided about whether to engage the fifth-year option on nose tackle Sylvester Williams' contract. The deadline is tomorrow and would bring a $6.75 million price tag for the 2017 season -- a "pretty big number," Elway said.

No time to find another apparently, but they held up a Broncos jersey for the Mr. Irrelevant pick. But the Broncos traded the 253rd pick to the Tennessee Titans earlier this afternoon.
