Packers first-year running backs coach Ben Sirmans said he's noticed Eddie Lacy's acceleration so far in training camp. He mentioned two runs and a screen pass where he's seen it already. "He's utilized his quick feet and burst through the hole," Sirmans said. "Everything I remember back when I was looking at him coming out, I was able to see those things."

Packers QB coach Alex Van Pelt compared the Aaron Rodgers-Jeff Janis relationship to a marriage. "There's going to be bumps in the road," he said. "The longer you're together the closer you become." He said their relationship is growing.

Another good review on Eddie Lacy from Packers associate head coach Tom Clements: "He looks good. He's finishing plays. I don't know that he is different [from last year]. He's a good player. He's worked hard in the offseason to become a better player, physically stronger and more staminia. He's the same Eddie, hopefully a little better."

The reviews on running back Eddie Lacy have been good so far. "He's been outstanding," Packers offensive coordinator Edgar Bennett said. "His worth ethic has been tremendous. He's doing the little things. We're excited where Eddie's starting out right now."

Rob Demovsky ESPN Staff Writer

Packers offensive coordinator on Edgar Bennett on whether Jordy Nelson will come back as good as he was before his knee injury: "You talk about being a true pro, that's Jordy Nelson. He's going to do everything he possibly can to get back [to that]."

Packers safety Morgan Burnett appeared to be playing some linebacker snaps in practice, and defensive coordinator Dom Capers thinks Burnett could handle that hybrid role. "I don't think there's any question," Capers said. "He can play multiple positions."

Packers GM Ted Thompson said he and Brett Favre never had a cross word and still haven't. When asked if he regretted anything about the summer of 2008 that led to Favre's trade to the Jets, Thompson said: "We did the best we could at that time, and Brett and his people did the best they could at the time."

Rob Demovsky ESPN Staff Writer

Packers GM Ted Thompson on the outlook this season: "My opinion is always the same. We're starting a new year and trying to win the championship. This is a good football team. I don't think it's a misstatement to say we'd like to win the whole thing."

Packers GM Ted Thompson, a former NFL linebacker, was asked about versatility of outside linebackers Julius Peppers and Clay Matthews. "You should never use my name with those two."
