About 11 players, including J.J. Watt and Duane Brown, weren't practicing. Most were working on a side field. Most notable of those working to the side were corners Kevin Johnson and Johnathan Joseph, who both had offseason surgeries.

Texans defensive end J.J. Watt and left tackle Duane Brown were not on the field for most of today's first organized team activity practice. Watt and Brown both had major surgeries in January, Watt for five torn core muscles and Brown for a torn right quad tendon.
