Saints will start training camp with four players on the physically-unable-to-perform list: LT Terron Armstead, CB Keenan Lewis, DE Hau'oli Kikaha, WR Vincent Brown. Armstead's injury is unknown, but a source indicated it's not significant. Lewis said the other day that he is recovered from last year's hip injury but may be limited early in camp as a precaution. Kikaha is expected to miss all or most of the year with an ACL injury. Brown's injury is unknown. First practice is Thursday.

Keenan Lewis' recovery will be crucial

The Saints' defense was a lost cause in 2015, but having more of Lewis sure would have helped. New Orleans will hope he's healthy after he played in just six games (zero starts) due to a hip injury. Injury questions

Will the Saints lock up Drew Brees?

It would be rare for a potential Hall of Fame QB to hit free agency, notes John Clayton. The franchise tag on Brees will be too expensive, so the Saints will likely get a contract extension done. Clayton: Best 2017 free agents (Insider)

Brees has a shot at completions record

Drew Brees needs 935 completions to tie Brett Favre's record of 6,300 completions. He's averaged 444 completions per season since 2011. At that rate, he'd break the record at age 39. Who could break Favre's records?

A bright light in a pit of darkness

Saints CB Delvin Breaux was one bright spot on an otherwise bad New Orleans defense last season. He ranked 16th out of 75 CBs with a 57 percent adjusted success rate, per Football Outsiders. Sneaky strengths (Insider)
