Saints coach Sean Payton after third straight loss, an ugly 24-6 dud at Houston: So now for us, as tough a pill as it is to swallow yesterday, and its tough for every one of us, by the time tomorrow comes around weve gotta get ourselves backup off the mat and prepare for a real good football team thats coming in here (the 11-0 Carolina Panthers). November is a month where oftentimes division races, playoff ramifications, all of those things get a little bit more clear. And we didnt play as well as we would have liked to play in that month.

Saints OT Zach Strief: "Any guy in here is as disappointed in himself as anyone is gonna be toward him. We're more upset about the record than any fan could possibly be. We're the ones that are in here working."

CB Delvin Breaux an easy and deserving choice for Saints' Ed Block Courage Award this year. Made it to the NFL -- and became a starter in his first season -- nine years after breaking his neck in high school.

Drew Brees disappoints

Brees caught a surging Texans defense at the wrong time. The quarterback failed to throw a touchdown for the second time this season and scored his second-fewest points in 2015 (seven). Houston's defense has now held opposing QBs under 300 yards passing in five consecutive games. Fantasy losers

Saints' 155-Game TD streak halted vs. Texans

In a 24-6 loss to the Texans, the Saints failed to score a touchdown for the first time since Sean Payton and Drew Brees arrived in 2006.

J.J. Watt, Kai Forbath earn game balls for Texans and Saints (1:24)
What's wrong with the Saints? (1:48)
Texans stifle Saints (0:53)

Saints' only star was Kai Forbath

His 57-yard field goal late in the first half beat his previous career high by seven yards. It was a gutsy call when the Saints were trailing 14-3, and Forbath delivered. But it didnt amount to much. Game balls

Drew Brees didn't say much about the fact the Saints failed to score a touchdown for first time in his 10 years as New Orleans' QB. Said he felt like they had opportunities late in game. Said he still believes offense can bounce back from bad streak of two games because they've shown this year what they can be. But doesn't get easier with Carolina coming to town next week.

Drew Brees said the plan vs. Texans was to avoid third-and-longs, but instead they were in third-and-long all day. Blamed execution errors and said they never gave themselves a chance.

TEXANS 24, SAINTS 6 (FINAL): Forget the defense. The Saints can blame the offense for their third straight loss. They failed to score a touchdown for the first time in the Sean Payton-Drew Brees era, ending a streak of 155 straight games that ranked second in NFL history. They couldnt throw, run or protect Brees consistently. Brees was sacked twice by J.J. Watt, and he threw an interception near the goal line in the fourth quarter.

Watt surpasses 70 sacks and knocks it out of the park (0:14)

Saints go TD-less for first time since 2005

Credit J.J. Watt and the Texans for snapping the Saints' streak of 155 straight games scoring at least one TD. The streak started in week 17 of 2005.

Saints can't get much cooking in Houston

Brandin Cooks was able to haul in this pass in front of Johnathan Joseph, but the Saints have managed just six points so far against the Texans. Check out all of the photos from today's NFL action. Best photos of Week 12

Bad just got worse for the Saints. Drew Brees threw his first pick of the day when the Saints were finally near the end zone. Texans CB Kareem Jackson leaped up to snag it in front of WR Brandin Cooks. The Saints, trailing 24-6 in the fourth quarter, are in serious jeopardy of not scoring a touchdown for the first time in the 10-year Sean Payton-Drew Brees era.

TEXANS 14, SAINTS 6 (HALFTIME): The Saints settled down after a hideous first quarter that had them trailing 14-0 in the blink of an eye. Texans QB Brian Hoyer completed his first 11 passes, including 2 TDs before New Orleans defense finally started playing some ball under new defensive coordinator Dennis Allen. The bigger problem is that Drew Brees and the Saints offense have been silenced. Theyre 1-for-7 on third downs and needed a 57-yard field goal by Kai Forbath to keep them afloat.

Brees' pursuit of Marino off to slow start

Saints QB Drew Brees needs four TD passes today to tie Dan Marino for 3rd on the all-time touchdown pass list. He doesn't have any in the first half as the Saints trail the Texans by 8. Follow live

A gutsy call by the Saints to attempt 57-yard field goal and a clutch kick by Kai Forbath to nail it. His previous career high was 50. Texans still lead 14-6, though.
