Redskins corner Josh Norman said there are similarities between the defense he ran in Carolina and what Washington does. But, he said, the "footwork is still the same." And, Norman said, the Redskins give their corners a little more freedom on the outside compared to the disciplined structure of Carolina.

Redskins coach Jay Gruden said receiver DeSean Jackson, who hasn't been at the voluntary workouts this week, has "popped in, had a cup of coffee and popped out" this offseason. Gruden said Jackson knows what sort of shape he needs to be in and expects him to participate in other voluntary workouts.

Redskins coach Jay Gruden said linebacker Junior Galette said he'll be out until training camp as he recovers from his Achilles' injury. Gruden also said linebacker Perry Riley, Jr., is getting his foot re-checked after feeling soreness. He was in a walking boot today.
