Chiefs, K Feely agree to one-year contract

The Kansas City Chiefs have decided to go with experience at kicker.

The team has agreed to terms with Jay Feely on a one-year deal, according to a source close to the situation.

Feely was cut by the Miami Dolphins two weeks ago.

The Chiefs were allowing youngsters Nick Novak and Connor Barth to fight it out during the first three preseason games.

Novak appeared to have taken a slight lead over Barth. However, Novak missed a 48-yard attempt against Miami on Saturday.

The Chiefs brought Feely in for a physical Sunday and agreed to the deal Monday.

The deal reunites Feely with special teams coach Mike Priefer. The two were together with the New York Giants.
