Adrian Peterson ready for contact
Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson might make his preseason debut as soon as Friday against the San Diego Chargers depending on how he responds to an increased workload, Vikings coach Leslie Frazier said Sunday.

ESPN.com's Kevin Seifert writes about all things NFC North in his division blog.
"We're going to give him a little bit more each day, see how he responds and continue to determine what's the next step," Frazier told reporters Sunday. "Just go day-to-day. We have some ideas of how we want to approach it, but a lot of it depends on how he feels with some of the things we're going to give him this week."
Frazier said the Vikings would determine by Wednesday whether Peterson would play Friday.
"We'll probably just see how he does with some of the stuff that we'll give him and probably make a determination by Tuesday or Wednesday if we want to do any more," he said, according to 1500ESPN.com.
Peterson, recovering from reconstructive surgery performed on his left knee on Dec. 31, was cleared to take part in full-pads practices last week.
Peterson hasn't participated in any contact drills but said Sunday he feels ready to do so.
"I wouldn't mind," he told reporters. "To be honest, it wouldn't matter either way. I think I'll be ready to roll."
