Ravens place Terrell Suggs on PUP
SportsNation: Ravens Without Suggs?
Terrell Suggs is on the PUP list, meaning he'll miss at least the first six games. Are the Ravens contenders without Suggs?

Players placed on the PUP list must sit out their team's first six games, which means the earliest Suggs could return is Oct. 21 versus the Houston Texans. However, he is expected to miss at least the first half of the 2012 season, if not more, after tearing his Achilles in April.
If Suggs is unable to return after the Ravens' sixth game, he can practice up to three weeks from then before the Ravens must decide whether to place him on the active roster. The five-time Pro Bowl linebacker had surgery May 8 to repair his torn Achilles.
The Ravens placed Suggs on the PUP list among moves they made Monday to get to the NFL roster limit of 75 players by 4 p.m. ET. NFL teams must get to the regular-season limit of 53 players by 9 p.m. ET on Friday.
Suggs had 14 sacks last season in helping the Ravens reach the AFC title game. He was voted The Associated Press Defensive Player of the Year and invited to the Pro Bowl.
Suggs has played in all 16 games in eight of his nine NFL seasons, missing three games in 2009 with a knee injury.
Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.
