Anthony Adams

DT | (5-11, 299, 5.11) | Penn State
By Pro Football Weekly

Notes: Redshirted in 1998. Played in every game in '99 and started every game the last three years. Had four tackles and one tackle for loss in '99; 36-8 with a sack in 2000; and 59-11-1 in '01. Recorded 67-13-2 with one fumble recovery and one forced fumble in '02.

Positives: Great initial quickness. Flashes strength and ability. Great motor and excellent athletic ability. Honor student. Shows great hustle to the ball, has a strong work ethic and is very productive. Short, stocky player who can play with power when he keeps his pads low. Gets into gaps and is disruptive.

Negatives: Lack of height and short arms are glaring shortcomings that make it difficult for him to see and read and react. Can improve his pass-rush technique. Doesn't use his hands well to shed blockers. Plays erect and loses some leverage. Slow to redirect and has inconsistent technique. Height really hurts when it comes to rushing the passer and locating the ball. Lacks pass-rush moves. Seems to run out of gas and lose intensity at times. Adams lacks long speed, and once he gets going one way, he has a hard time changing directions. Wears down quickly. Not a two-gap stuffer.

Summary: High motor and impressive Senior Bowl showing likely will vault Adams into the first two rounds.
