Damian Lavergne

OT | (6-6, 333, 5.55) | Louisiana Tech
By Pro Football Weekly

Notes: Prop 48 casualty in 1998. Backup in '99 and starting right tackle in 2000 and '01. All-Western Athletic Conference in '01 despite having surgery on his left shoulder and missing spring practice. Played every game last fall after graduating to maintain eligibility. Also played in the Rotary Gridiron Classic.

Positives: Huge man who has some athleticism and good natural strength. Can dominate, muscle and maul when he really wants to. Does flash athletic ability. Has natural strength and can be a powerful run blocker when he wants to. Can get to the second level but doesn't do so consistently.

Negatives: Has been an enigma and underachiever to date. Is not in good shape and wears down. Looks for the easy way out too often and overrelies on his natural size and strength. Is not quick off the ball, plays tall and gets lazy with his hands and feet. Doesn't work in the weight room but could be a one-man show if he ever turned it on. Is still immature. Stops his feet too soon. Can be late off the ball. Benchpressed 225 pounds just 17 times at the Combine.

Summary: Low on desire but high on upside. Could be a player if he really wanted it.
