Greg Schindler

OG | (6-5, 307, 5.08) | Stanford
By Pro Football Weekly

Notes: Redshirted in 1998. Started 11-of-12 games at right tackle in '99, every game at right tackle in 2000 and was a second-team All-Pacific-10 pick as a right tackle in '01, despite missing two games with a sprained medial collateral ligament. Started 10-of-11 games last fall at right guard. Named honorable mention All-Pac-10. Started 42-of-46 games in his career. Starting right tackle for first three years. Helped himself with a strong showing at the Combine.

Positives: Four-year starter with excellent size. Very smart and quick off the ball. Gets into his blocks quickly. Strong, determined and tenacious with good weight-room strength. Bench-presses 468 pounds. Sustains blocks when he keeps his base. Has good balance and drives his legs. Works hard and has good hips. Reads keys and has a good feel for the game. Can mirror and slide. Has strong hands and gets excellent hand placement on pass blocks. Can anchor and is a good inside pass blocker. Durable starter with above-adequate athletic ability. Was a very good high school baseball player. Not a waist-bender. Gets good leverage most of the time and can play offensive tackle. Uses his size very well to wall off and position and gets the job done. Tough to bull-rush when he keeps his base wide and stays reasonably low to the ground.

Negatives: Gets narrow-based at times and falls off. Gets good change of direction in space and adjusts on the move. Not explosive or really mobile and athletic. Gets tall at times. Doesn't finish and struggles to adjust on the second level. Is not very quick or nifty and will get too upright. Average athletic ability and feet. Lacks lower-body explosion.

Summary: Very experienced, strong and smart player who needs to improve his technique, mobility and explosiveness to be a starter at the next level.
