Brad Banks

QB | (5-10, 201, 4.73) | Iowa
By Pro Football Weekly

Notes: Redshirted at Central Florida in 1998 before transferring to Hinds Junior College in Mississippi. Was used as a change-of-pace quarterback in 2001, his first season at Iowa, when he completed 41-of-68 passes for 582 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions. Also rushed 39 times for 160 yards and two touchdowns but did not start a game. Started every game in '02, when he won All-Big Ten honors, the Associated Press Player of the Year award and the Davey O'Brien Award. Completed 155-258-2,369-25-4 and rushed 73-387-5 during the regular season, then completed 15-36-204-1-1 and rushed 8-36-0 in the Orange Bowl.

Positives: Banks is a tremendous leader, athlete and competitor. He has a solid, overhand delivery and uses his athletic ability and pocket presence to his strength as a scrambler. Shows a strong arm and quick release. Has a 331-inch vertical. Incredible TD-to-INT ratio as a senior.

Negatives: Does not have an accurate arm on a consistent basis. Is often too quick to bolt the pocket and doesn't stay with his progressions long enough. His instincts and intelligence could be better. Lacks much experience as a starter and against quality competition.

Summary: Undersized, athletic passer who was only a contributor for one season at Iowa and lacks the size and accuracy to be an elite NFL quarterback.
