J.p. Comella

FB | (5-11, 241, 4.93) | Boston College
By Pro Football Weekly

Notes: Younger brother of Titans FB Greg Comella and Matt Comella (ex-Jets). Redshirted in 1999 and played sparingly in 2000, when he had four catches for 96 yards and five kickoff returns for 78 yards. Played in all 11 games and started seven in '01. Had nine catches for 58 yards and five kick returns for 45 yards. Played in every game in '02 but started only the first four games of the season before suffering a rib injury. Caught 8-113 yards in '02.

Positives: Good size, strength and toughness. Is an asset as a receiver and a good-plus lead blocker who has good technique. Plays with a nasty attitude and reckless abandon. Overachiever who runs hard but isn't a great runner or run-after-the-catch guy.

Negatives: Lacks the size and athleticism to be an I-back or running fullback. Durability is a concern.

Summary: Doesn't have Greg's versatility or athleticism, but might have more toughness and ability as a blocker and should be a late pick or priority free agent if he checks out medically.
