Andre Forde

WR | (5-10, 210, 4.52) | Buffalo
By Pro Football Weekly

Notes: Wide receiver and kickoff returner who generally started in 2000 and '01 after lettering as a true freshman. Team's best offensive player and MVP in '02. Caught 12 passes for 148 yards and two scores and returned 10 kickoffs for 224 yards in '99. Caught 36-590-6 and returned 20-362 in 2000. Hauled in 23-289-0 and returned 15-293 in '01, when he also returned 13 punts for 143 yards before a fractured collarbone ended his season in the seventh game. In '02, caught 54-748-7, returned 19 punts for 161 yards and one score and kickoffs 30-626. Led the team in all-purpose yardage despite missing three starts and two games with turf toe.

Positives: Really came on in '02 and became one of the best all-around, all-purpose players in the Mid-American Conference. Well-built and looks more like a running back than a receiver. Has big, soft hands and catches the ball well. Can return kickoffs and punts and runs well after the catch. Has gotten tougher and is much more willing to go over the middle.

Negatives: A little shorter than teams would like. Lacks great speed and acceleration and is not totally fearless over the middle.

Summary: Has a chance to catch on because of his return ability. Will have to show he can also cover kicks well to make it.
