By Pro Football Weekly

Notes: Redshirted in 1999. Played in 12 games in 2000, starting two in multiple receiver sets. Caught 22 passes for 358 yards and one touchdown, carried five times for 30 yards and led team in punt returns with 28 returns for 263 yards and one touchdown and three kickoffs for 42 yards. Started eight of 11 games in '01, leading team with 47-1,104-11, including a five-catch, four-TD, 154-yard performance vs. Louisiana-Lafayette. Forced a fumble on special teams. Earned first-team All-Pacific-10 honors. Named team's offensive MVP in '02, when he caught 76-1,291-13, including two games with more than 200 yards receiving. Set school records for yardage and reception totals. Biletnikoff Award finalist.

Positives: Good quickness, agility and balance. Has great hands and is a good route runner. Tough. Not afraid to catch in traffic or go across the middle. Great concentration. Sets up defensive backs, sinks hips and runs sharp routes. Very polished. Leader. Excellent running after the catch. Good returner. Has playmaking ability. Finds a way to get open. Deion Branch type.

Negatives: Lacks size and height. Struggles beating jams and press coverage. Little target. Willing blocker, but not an effective blocker. Lacks strength.

Summary: Would have benefitted greatly from another year of school. Needs to get stronger but could develop into a reliable slot or No. 2 receiver. Return ability could make him a first-day pick.
