Bobby Wade

WR | (5-10, 193, 4.68) | Arizona
By Pro Football Weekly

Notes: Was a state Player of the Year in football, a 5A triple-jump champion in track and a baseball player. Made an impact as a true freshman, catching 30 passes for 454 yards and four touchdowns with a long of 42 and returning 10 kickoffs for 191 yards. Caught 45-626-3 with a long of 75, returned kickoffs 3-16 and punts 26-262 and one touchdown in 2000, despite a shoulder injury that caused him to miss the San Diego State game and required postseason surgery. Came back in '01 to catch 62-882-8 with a long of 56, return kickoffs 3-67 and punts 23-239-0. Had his best season in '02, catching 93-1,389-8 with a long of 74, and returning kickoffs 17-332 and one touchdown and returning punts 16-224-0.

Positives: Wade is a very athletic and productive receiver who can return punts. He has quick hands and feet and soft, natural hands. He is quick into and out of his breaks and gets separation. He wants the ball in the clutch. Has exceptional ability to run after the catch, fine return skills and superior balance. Runs with a low center of gravity and will break tackles.

Negatives: Lacks size for a possession guy as well as long speed. Gets caught from behind a lot. Rarely makes catches behind defensive backs. Production is mainly short-to-intermediate.

Summary: An excellent football player who may not go very high because of his size-speed ratio. Much quicker than fast and plays much bigger and stronger than he tests out.
