CALGARY, Alberta (AP) _ Valeri Bure scored two of Calgary's four first-period goals, and the Flames hung on for a 4-3 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday night.

Ron Petrovicky opened Calgary's scoring 5:20 into the game, and Oleg Saprykin added a power-play goal two minutes later.Bure scored an unassisted goal with 5:58 remaining and extended the Flames lead to 4-0 with 2:13 to go.

The Flames (5-2-1) then relied on goalie Fred Brathwaite to preserve the exhibition win. Brathwaite made 29 saves.

Doug Weight, Dan LaCouture and Brian Swanson scored for Edmonton (3-3, 1-1).
