PREDATORS' 22 STRAIGHT WIN BY NO MORE THAN TWO GOALS
The Predators beat the Red Wings, 3-1, in Nashville on Monday night and set an NHL record in the process. Each of the Predators' last 22 wins have been by either a two-goal (8 times) or one-goal margin (14 times). That breaks the longest previous streak of its kind in league history, 21 wins by no more than two goals by the Rangers from January 1953 to January 1954, though the Predators' total needs an asterisk because five of their wins have come in shootouts. The last time Nashville won a game by more than a two-goal margin was the Red Wings' last visit to Music City, on February 28, when the Predators wiped them out, 8-0.
