THREE ASSISTS FOR ROOKIE DEFENSEMAN
Carl Gunnarson, playing in only his sixth NHL game, had three assists to help the Maple Leafs pick up a 4-3 win in Tampa on Wednesday. Gunnarson was the first rookie defenseman to have a three-assist game for Toronto since Nov. 12, 1998, when Tomas Kaberle had three assists in a 10-3 Leafs win at Chicago.
