Buffalo waives LW Linus Omark

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Buffalo Sabres placed recently acquired left wing Linus Omark on waivers as part of a series of moves made before the start of the NHL's Olympic break.

Omark had two assists in 13 games with the Sabres. The 2007 fourth-round draft pick was regarded as a disappointment after Buffalo gave up a conditional sixth-round pick in a trade with Edmonton on Dec. 19.
