Draft weekend comes and goes without many teams making a big splash

PHILADELPHIA -- If the expectation was that draft weekend would yield a plethora of significant trades, then the 2014 draft period failed.

When Ryan Kesler was dealt to Anaheim on Friday afternoon by the Vancouver Canucks, the sense was that it would be the proverbial falling of the first domino. But it didn't pan out that way.
