Brind'Amour leads Carolina on rout

PITTSBURGH (Ticker) -- Unfortunately, homecoming week got off to a hospitable start for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
In one of the most lopsided games of the season, Tom Barrasso notched an easy shutout and Ron Francis scored a pair of power-play goals as the Carolina Hurricanes buried the Penguins, 7-0.
Rod Brind'Amour added a goal and four assists for Carolina, which has won four of its last five games to build a seven-point lead over Washington atop the Southeast Division.
