Vision improves, but coach holds him out
DETROIT -- Calgary Flames defenseman Rhett Warrener had blurry vision after being struck in the right eye Saturday against the Detroit Red Wings and was taken to a hospital for further evaluation.
When his vision improved, doctors cleared him to play. He was on Calgary's bench in the third period, but he didn't return to the ice.
"I didn't think we should use him," Flames coach Darryl Sutter said after Calgary's 5-2 loss that tied the best-of-seven series 1-1.
