Bruins hire Sweeney to head player development

BOSTON -- Don Sweeney played in more than 1,000 games for the Boston Bruins. Now he will try to help them as an executive.
The team named Sweeney as their director of player development, interim general manager Jeff Gorton announced on Wednesday.
Sweeney, 39, was a teammate of incoming Bruins general manager
Peter Chiarelli at Harvard University. Chiarelli has spent the
