Peca sidelined for up to four months with broken leg
TORONTO -- Just when Michael Peca was getting used to playing for the Toronto Maple Leafs, his season was painfully interrupted.
Peca underwent surgery Sunday to repair a broken right leg and will be sidelined for up to four months.
Peca, 32, suffered the injury late in the first period of Friday's 3-1 loss to Chicago when he collided with Blackhawks defenseman Jim Vandermeer, who received a five-minute major penalty and a game misconduct.
