Islanders defenseman Martinek injured
MONTREAL -- New York Islanders defenseman Radek Martinek was taken off the ice on a stretcher with an ankle injury in the first period of Saturday's 4-2 victory over the Montreal Canadiens.
Martinek remained on the ice after he was checked into the boards behind the Islanders' net by Canadiens left wing Guillaume Latendresse.
