Sabres' Numminen plays first game 6½ months after open-heart surgery
BOSTON -- Buffalo Sabres defenseman Teppo Numminen played his first game Saturday night since having open-heart surgery 6½ months ago.
Numminen took a regular turn, playing 16 minutes, 3 seconds in Buffalo's season-ending 3-0 win over the playoff-bound Boston Bruins. The Sabres were eliminated from postseason contention Thursday night in a 3-1 loss at Montreal.
