Cooke's deal worth $5.4 million

The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-signed agitating winger Matt Cooke to a three-year deal worth a total of $5.4 million (with a $1.8 million annual cap hit).

Cooke could have become an unrestricted free agent July 1. He has been with the Penguins since signing as a free agent in summer 2008.

Cooke, one of the team's top penalty killers along with Jordan Staal, had 15 goals and 15 assists during the regular season and was a plus-17.
