Capitals, Penguins to raise funds

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Penguins and Washington Capitals are teaming up to raise money for the families of the Russian hockey players killed in a plane crash last month.

The rivals, who meet Oct. 13 at Consol Energy Center, will wear commemorative patches honoring the 28 Lokomotiv Yaroslavl players who died when their plane went down in western Russia.

The players will autograph the game-worn jerseys, which will be sold at auction through nhl.com.
