Deryk Engelland suspended 3 games

Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Deryk Engelland was suspended for three games by the league Thursday for his hit to the head of Chicago Blackhawks center Marcus Kruger.

Engelland checked Kruger into the boards in the first period of the Penguins' 3-2 win Tuesday, appearing to have left his feet while making contact with Kruger's head.

There was no penalty called on the play, and Kruger left the game after finishing the first period.
