Raffi Torres hit with 2-game suspension

NEW YORK -- Phoenix Coyotes forward Raffi Torres has been suspended two games without pay for charging Minnesota Wild defenseman Nate Prosser.

The NHL made the announcement Monday, saying Torres will forfeit $42,682.93. He hit Prosser from behind during the first period of Phoenix's 4-2 victory Saturday night, though no penalty was called on the play.

Torres, also suspended last season, was deemed a repeat offender. He will sit out Tuesday at St. Louis and Thursday at Los Angeles. ...
