Matt Duchene signs 2-year deal

DENVER -- The Colorado Avalanche signed center Matt Duchene to a two-year contract on Saturday.

The deal, which runs through the 2013-14 season, is worth $7 million and has a salary-cap hit of $3.5 million, a source told ESPN.com's Pierre LeBrun. Duchene will make $3.25 million next season and $3.75 million in 2013-14, according to the source.
