Dan Cleary agrees to deal with Detroit

Daniel Cleary, citing a change of heart after earlier this week agreeing to a camp tryout with the Philadelphia Flyers, instead has agreed to a one-year, $1.75 million deal to stay with the Detroit Red Wings, agent Pat Brisson confirmed Thursday.

The deal was expected to be signed later Thursday.

Flyers GM Paul Holmgren said Cleary was up front with him from the start about his desire to stay with Detroit.
