Ducks topple Hawks in OT

After Jonathan Toews scored 2 goals in 72 seconds to force overtime, Matt Beleskey's goal 45 seconds into the extra session lifted the Ducks to a 5-4 win over the Blackhawks and a 3-2 series advantage in the Western Conference finals.

Rapid reaction: Ducks stop Hawks' streak

Anaheim took a 3-2 series lead, improved to 7-1 at home in this year’s playoffs and broke a long-standing Chicago trend. Game 5 was the Blackhawks’ first loss under coach Joel Quenneville in a series tied 2-2; Chicago had been 14-0 in those situations since 2009. First period betrays Blackhawks

Ducks fly into series lead

Matt Beleskey's first career playoff overtime goal gave Anaheim a win after it blew a 2-goal lead in the final minutes of regulation. The Ducks now lead the series 3-2, with Game 6 set for Wednesday night in Chicago.

Wilbon bummed by hockey result

Overtime is over as quick as it starts

That didn't take very long -- just 45 seconds, in fact, as the Ducks caught Chicago out of position after a Blackhawks dump into the Anaheim zone, and Matt Beleskey put the game winner in the back of the net. The Ducks take a 3-2 series lead. Box score
