DETROIT -- Red Wings prospect Igor Grigorenko has been injured in a single-car accident in his native Russia.

The 20-year-old Grigorenko is believed to have fractured his hip in the crash Thursday, but the extent of the injury is unknown, general manager Ken Holland said.

Grigorenko was a second-round selection by Detroit in 2001. He was voted the top forward at the world junior tournament in January.
