Canucks add defenseman Brookbank

VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- The Vancouver Canucks
acquired defenseman Wade Brookbank from the Nashville Predators on
Wednesday for future considerations.

Brookbank will be assigned to Vancouver's AHL team in Manitoba
on Friday if he clears waivers.

The 6-foot-4, 225-pound Brookbank had zero points and 38 penalty
minutes in nine games for the Predators as a rookie this season. He
also has six penalty minutes in six games in the AHL.

Brookbank was originally signed as a free agent by the Ottawa
Senators during 2001, then was claimed by Nashville in this year's
waiver draft.

He played in four minor leagues over six seasons, with more than
300 penalty minutes in each of three seasons.
