Second suspension for defenseman

NEW YORK -- Calgary Flames defenseman Denis Gauthier was
suspended for two games without pay by the NHL on Saturday, one day
after kneeing a Vancouver player.

Gauthier received a major and game misconduct for kneeing
Vancouver defenseman Sami Salo in the third period of Friday's 2-0
loss to the Canucks.

Gauthier was suspended for a game in November 2002, and is
considered a repeat offender by the league. He will miss Sunday's
game against Edmonton and Monday's contest against Minnesota.
