Lapointe out one game for cross-check

BOSTON -- Boston Bruins forward Martin Lapointe was suspended for Monday night's game against Washington because of a hard cross-check on Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Brad Lukowich.

Lapointe hit Lukowich in the head in the third period of
Saturday's game, which Boston lost 4-2.

Lukowich lay on the ice for about a minute but stayed in the
game. Lapointe was given a five-minute match penalty, and his
suspension will cost him almost $28,000 in pay.

Lapointe might have needed the time off, anyway: He was
diagnosed with shingles, a virus that causes a painful rash.
