Doig suspended for kneeing Adams

WASHINGTON -- Washington Capitals defenseman Jason Doig was
suspended for two games without pay by the NHL on Friday for
kneeing Carolina Hurricanes center Kevyn Adams.

Doig will miss Saturday's game against Vancouver and Tuesday's
game against Tampa Bay.

Doig kneed Adams late in the first period of the Capitals' 5-3
victory at Raleigh on Thursday. Adams' left knee was injured on the
play, and he did not return. Doig was assessed a minor penalty.

On Wednesday, Doig gave New York Rangers star Eric Lindros a
concussion with a hard hit during a 2-1 Capitals victory.
