Stars fined for Ottawa penalties

DALLAS -- Dallas Stars forwards Steve Ott and Scott Young were fined $1,000 each by the NHL on Friday for penalties they committed during a win over Ottawa on Wednesday.

Ott received a five-minute major penalty for charging and a game misconduct when he checked Ottawa's Curtis Leschyshyn along the boards in the second period of Dallas' 5-3 victory. Leschyshyn left
with a cut on his forehead that required 22 stitches.

Young was fined for a high-sticking penalty against Ottawa's
Jason Spezza in the third period.
