Forward was acquired last season

DENVER -- The Colorado Avalanche signed forward Darby Hendrickson to a one-year contract Thursday.

Hendrickson was acquired by the Avalanche from Minnesota on Feb.
26. He had two goals and three assists with the two teams last season.

He has 65 goals and 64 assists in 518 career regular-season
games, and six goals and six assists in 25 playoff games.

He was eligible to become an unrestricted free agent July 1.

Colorado also signed defenseman Brett Clark and forwards Chris Bala and Jeff Ulmer to one-year deals.

Clark had a goal and an assist in 12 games with the Avalanche
after he was called up from Hershey of the AHL on Nov. 9.

The Avalanche acquired Bala from Minnesota on March 9 and
assigned him to Hershey. He appeared in six games for the Ottawa Senators in 2001-02, getting one assist.

Ulmer, an unrestricted free agent, played the 2003-04 season
with Cardiff in the United Kingdom and Lukko in Finland. He
appeared in a combined 43 games with 22 goals and 17 assists.
