Hejduk had 35 goals and 40 assists

TORONTO -- Colorado Avalanche forward Milan Hejduk was awarded $5.7 million for next season in an arbitration case on Thursday.

The 28-year-old Hejduk had 35 goals and 40 assists in 82 games with the Avalanche last season, and earned $3.2 million. He scored 50 goals in 2002-03 and won the Rocket Richard trophy as the league's top goal-scorer.

Hejduk, the 87th overall pick of the 1994 entry draft, has 197
goals and 219 assists in 470 career NHL games. He also has 28 goals
and 33 assists in 90 career playoff games.
