MONTREAL -- Hockey phenom Sidney Crosby won five trophies at the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Golden Puck Awards on Wednesday night, including the Michel Briere Trophy as league MVP and the Telus Offensive Player of the Year award.
Crosby also won the Jean Beliveau Trophy as the league's leading scorer, the Michael Bossy Trophy as the top pro prospect, and the Paul Dumont Trophy as the personality of the year. Crosby has won 11 awards in two seasons of junior hockey.
Crosby, considered a lock to be the top pick in the NHL's next entry draft, is confident there will be hockey with NHL players next season.
"I want to play in the NHL as soon as possible, that's my dream and that's my goal," he said. "I'm pretty confident (the lockout) is not going to go another year.
"The players want to get back and there are a lot of fans that want to see hockey."
